Roth ThermoTerra and ThermoTerra F brine-to-water heat pumps

Heating and cooling with earth energy

The various output classes up to 19 kW and the high flow temperature (up to 65 °C) predestine the modern Roth ThermoTerra brine-to-water heat pumps for use in new construction and modernisation for single- to multi-family homes.
With their very good performance values, they are designed for monovalent operation. Nevertheless, a 9 kW heating rod is installed as standard for safety and for the anti-legionella function in domestic hot water heating. All types of the ThermoTerra series are equipped with a special energy efficiency heating circulation pump and brine circulation pump with energy efficiency class A, in order to minimise the power consumption of the entire system here as well.

All brine/water heat pumps have integrated heat quantity measurement.

Roth ThermoTerra brine-to-water heat pumps not only impress with their top performance figures (in some cases greater than 5), but also with their compact design. The extremely quiet operation is particularly noteworthy.
All the necessary components for comfortable and environmentally friendly heating, and optionally cooling, are housed in a space-saving manner in an attractive casing. They no longer have to be elaborately mounted on the wall. All components are factory-tested and optimally matched to each other.

Thanks to their compact design, Roth brine/water heat pumps offer planning reliability and extremely simple installation. This saves valuable planning and installation time.

Top performance values

Outstanding performance values - COP (coefficient of performance) - characterise Roth ThermoTerra brine-to-water heat pumps, for example a COP of 5.05 at 12 kW heating output (B0/W35 - EN14511) for the Roth ThermoTerra 12 kW. All units in the series are marked with the energy efficiency label A++ label.

Cooling with the heater

As an option, Roth ThermoTerra brine-to-water heat pumps can not only heat but also cool. An external cooling package (accessory) is required for this. In this case, heat is extracted from the rooms via the radiant heating and cooling systems in the wall, ceiling and floor areas and supplied to the ground. Since this cooling function is covered exclusively by the ground collector or the ground probe, it is referred to as passive cooling mode. The priority circuit for domestic hot water preparation ensures that, if necessary, passive cooling is switched off and the heat pump is switched on until the domestic hot water has warmed up to the desired temperature. Once the set temperature is reached, the system switches back to passive cooling. Since only the circulation pump operates for this purpose and the heat pump remains switched off, this convenient additional comfort is essentially available free of charge. In summer, the temperature of the ground is thus simply used to cool the rooms pleasantly.

Roth ThermoTerra and ThermoTerra F brine-to-water heat pumps

ThermoTerra

With an output of 4 to 19 kW for heating and passive cooling and a compact interior, the Roth ThermoTerra is a convincing choice.
The heat generator and hydraulic system are optimally matched and integrated into the unit with a small footprint. For quick and easy installation, they no longer have to be planned and brought together individually, as is the case with conventional modular systems. The flow temperatures are up to 65 °C.
The refrigeration circuit is located in the lower section of the heat pump in a removable multibox. This provides special insulation for the compressor, making the operation practically noiseless.

Roth ThermoTerra F

The ThermoTerra F is essentially identical to the Roth ThermoTerra. The design and the hydraulic components are identical. The special feature is the frequency-controlled mode of operation. The ThermoTerra F is available in output levels of 6, 9 and 14 and 17 kW for heating and passive cooling. The heat generator and hydraulic system are optimally matched and integrated in the unit with a small footprint. The flow temperatures are up to 65 °C. The cooling circuit is located in the lower section of the heat pump in a removable multibox. This provides special insulation for the compressor, making operation virtually silent.

Roth ThermoTerra F with demand-controlled heat output
Frequency-controlled heat pumps are geared precisely to the needs of the user and the building, thus increasing energy efficiency enormously. Their compressor and the heat source and heating circulation pump automatically adjust their speed to the actual demand. The Roth ThermoTerra F offers an outstanding coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.86. Operating costs are further reduced by the low start-up current requirement.

Simple and flexible installation

The Multibox can be removed for transport and assembly. It is located in the lower section of the unit. This allows the housing to be transported horizontally to the installation site. The connections for heating, domestic hot water and electrics are located on the roof of the housing. The brine connections can be connected either on the left or on the right. The service access is located exclusively at the front. The installation location of the Roth ThermoTerra can thus be flexibly selected; installation in the corner or directly on the wall is possible.
