Roth

One brand, many strengths

Roth is one of the top three in Hesse - family business honoured by Economics Minister Al-Wazir as a finalist in "Hesse Champions

The companies of Roth Industries in Wiesbaden have been named finalists in the "Hessen Champions" competition for their commitment to creating jobs and training places. In the "Job Motor" category, Roth Industries moved into the final round with two other Hessian companies. "This is a great success and a great tribute to the employer quality of all Roth companies," said the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Roth Industries, Matthias Donges, at the award ceremony in the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden. At the same time, he congratulated the company Energiesysteme Groß from Niestetal on winning the title "Hessen Champion".

With the "Hessen Champions" competition, the Hessian Ministry of Economics and other partners honour the innovative strength of Hessian companies in three different categories - including the "Job Motor" category. Here, both the creation of jobs and training opportunities in Hessen and innovative approaches to employee recruitment and retention are examined. Roth Industries had previously applied for the "Hessen Champions", and its entry into the final round was celebrated as a great success at the company's headquarters in Buchenau: "We are proud to be counted among the three most innovative and fastest-growing employers in Hessen with our great workforce," said managing partner Dr Anne-Kathrin Roth.

Roth Industries companies have created nearly 50 new full-time jobs at their Hessian locations since 2018 - despite the Corona pandemic and its economic consequences. The Roth companies currently employ 770 people in Hesse alone, and around 1,400 worldwide. With a current training rate of ten per cent and a takeover rate of over 90 per cent, the Roth companies have enabled more than 900 young people to start their careers over the past five decades. With the start of the new training year in August, Roth employs around 60 trainees in Hesse. In addition, there are students in the dual "StudiumPlus" programme of the Technical University of Central Hesse as well as students from other universities and colleges who are gaining practical experience at Roth or writing their final thesis.

In order to counter the much-cited shortage of skilled workers as an attractive employer, Roth relies on individual offers for its employees: "Our employees are the key to our entrepreneurial success," emphasise Claus-Hinrich Roth, Christin Roth-Jäger, Dr Anne-Kathrin Roth, Matthias Donges and Marcus Schmidt, who together form the Executive Board of Roth Industries. "As a family business, we are also aware of the special responsibility in the region and always take a close look at how we can meet the diverse needs and challenges with around 1,400 employees worldwide."

In doing so, the Roth Industries companies rely on a wide range of programmes and measures, which are often developed with the employee representatives and in close dialogue with the employees. "An attractive remuneration package is of course just as much a part of this as flexitime and part-time models, company pension schemes, further training plans and individual development opportunities, digital learning platforms and measures to reconcile family and career," explains HR Manager Michael Donges, "our 'Rothkehlchen' crèche or our lived commitment to the Hessian Charter for the Reconciliation of Care and Work are particularly outstanding examples here, but we also take into account the special challenges of employees in different phases of their lives in many other places." For example, job sharing models are no exception at Roth, mobile working is just as much a matter of course as digital learning and training platforms and various health promotion offers. "Above-average length of service and a very low fluctuation rate show us that we are on the right track here," emphasises Claus-Hinrich Roth, "we are very grateful for the high level of loyalty of our employees." The award as a finalist in the "Hessen Champions" is therefore also an appreciation of the work that all Roth managers do on site.
