Manfred Roth's second volume in the "From the Hinterland to the Vorderland" series on local companies. Which industries and companies characterise the region? Why are family-run companies in particular crisis-proof? And what advantages does the hinterland offer as a basis for innovation and growth? Manfred Roth, who died unexpectedly in January this year, explored these and many other questions in the second volume of his book series "From Hinterland to Vorderland".
Manfred Roth published the book shortly before his death. A press release had already been prepared for this. His family has now decided to publish it: "With his five works in total, his legacy remains alive - a legacy characterised by entrepreneurial courage, regional ties and social commitment," writes the Roth family in a press release on the publication of the book.
The current volume is entitled "Courageous entrepreneurs move the region". The industrial development of the region is described on around 120 pages, with numerous company portraits providing a comprehensive overview of the current entrepreneurial spectrum in the hinterland. Anyone interested in the local companies, their origins and their sphere of influence will find a compact and vivid cross-section here
"This publication revives Manfred Roth's commitment - as an inspiration for entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow," writes the Roth family.
Manfred Roth was known far beyond the region for his entrepreneurial endeavours and social commitment. In the three earlier works, the deceased, who was 86 years old, documented the history of the family and the family business, which had developed over the decades from a small company with just a few employees into a global group of companies.
Entrepreneurial families characterise industrial stronghold
In his last book series, he addressed the question of how the "hinterland" was able to become a prosperous industrial stronghold and which factors favoured this success story.
The second volume now published provides a central answer: it is the entrepreneurial families who have built up and successfully run their businesses with courage, attitude and a high sense of responsibility - in some cases already in the fifth generation. The author also discusses why family-run companies of all things are adaptable, innovative and therefore crisis-proof, drawing on various scientific studies.
Value-based corporate management takes centre stage
The second volume of "Vom Hinterland zum Vorderland" is not only a historical and descriptive read for anyone with a connection to the region, but also provides valuable insights into value-based and sustainable corporate management. The outlook on opportunities and challenges is also included, with Manfred Roth discussing the potential of artificial intelligence and the chances of success through "green technology", among other things.
"Courageous entrepreneurs move the region" is available for 18 euros at the Roth company headquarters in Buchenau (Am Seerain 2), at "Nettes Lädchen" in Buchenau and at the bookshops "Stephani" and "Buch & Bild" in Biedenkopf. The proceeds from the sale of the books will go to the Manfred Roth Foundation.
