One brand, many strengths

IFH/Intherm 2026 – Making existing buildings fit for the future

The energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings is becoming increasingly important. Homeowners wish to preserve the charm of their property whilst improving energy efficiency, living comfort and sustainability. With comprehensive system solutions, Roth supports HVAC specialists in efficiently implementing refurbishment projects: from energy generation and storage to heat distribution within the building.

The focus is on surface heating and cooling systems, heat pumps and heat storage units, which are optimally coordinated and particularly suitable for use in existing buildings. This systems-based approach enables the implementation of modern low-temperature heating systems that can be efficiently combined with renewable energies.

Surface heating and cooling systems: Flexible for every renovation scenario

Surface heating and cooling systems for floors, walls and ceilings play a central role in renovation. They provide even radiant heat whilst also enabling pleasant cooling in summer. Thanks to their low flow temperatures, they are ideally suited for use with heat pumps. Roth offers a wide range of system solutions for this purpose, specifically developed for the diverse structural requirements of existing buildings. These include, for example, milling systems that allow underfloor heating to be installed without altering the existing screed height. Panel systems with a particularly low installation height also allow for quick installation with minimal disruption to the building structure. Furthermore, additional solutions are available for various renovation scenarios – such as dry-construction and compact systems for low installation heights, or classic studded and tacker systems for more extensive modernisation projects.

Minimal installation, rapid response

Roth Quick-Energy systems combine the fastest energy supply with maximum comfort in terms of warmth and impact sound insulation. The thin-layer surface heating and cooling systems with decoupling mats or high-efficiency screed are based on the Roth Original Tacker System and Roth Studded System installation techniques. In Roth Quick-Energy systems with decoupling mats, the load-distribution layer is installed using the wet method as a thin-layer screed (standard quality in accordance with DIN 18560). In combination with the decoupling mat, this ensures the necessary load-bearing capacity of the thin-layer floor structure. Compared to standard requirements, the system requires a significantly reduced cover of just 10 millimetres and is suitable for all floor coverings. Tiles can be bonded directly to the Flexbone using a tile adhesive suitable for underfloor heating. Thanks to their minimal build-up, the Roth Quick-Energy systems ensure a rapid response. “Thanks to the wide range and high variety of our solutions, planners and specialist tradespeople can choose a suitable solution for almost any situation,” emphasises Rüdiger Heinz, Sales Manager for Energy Systems at Roth.

Efficient combination with heat pumps

Surface heating and cooling systems really come into their own when combined with heat pumps. By operating in the low-temperature range, heat pumps work efficiently and can be used for both heating and domestic hot water production. Roth’s heat pumps are available for both indoor and outdoor installation and can be combined with photovoltaic systems. This allows surplus solar power to be used directly for heat generation – an important step towards sustainable energy supply in existing buildings.

Heat storage tanks as a central system component

Heat storage tanks play a further important role in the overall system. With the Thermotank Quadroline plastic heat storage tank, Roth offers a solution that is particularly suitable for use in renovation projects. The tanks are lightweight, compact and can be installed without difficulty even in confined basement spaces. At the same time, their efficient thermal insulation ensures low energy losses and optimal temperature stratification within the tank.

Support for the HVAC trade

In addition to its products, Roth offers comprehensive support for specialist trades through its “Roth ServiceXtra” service package. This includes consultancy, planning, installation services and after-sales support. The manufacturer also provides support with its own subsidy service when applying for government grants for heat pumps.

Focus on sustainability and healthy living

Many components of Roth systems have been tested according to the criteria of the Sentinel Holding Institute and hold an SHI product passport. This makes it easier for planners and building owners to provide evidence for sustainability certifications and supports the construction of buildings in line with current environmental standards. With its comprehensive system solutions, Roth demonstrates how energy-efficient renovations can be carried out efficiently and in a future-proof manner – and offers the HVAC trade practical solutions for the modernisation of existing buildings.
